Yurii Komarov
Having met Yurii, we knew that he perfectly prepares students for GIA and NMT, teaches them to understand history, and not just know the dates. We knew that he had been working with students in grades 8-11 for a long time. We decided to offer Yurii to teach history starting from the 5th grade – this was a challenge for both him and the children. At first, the fifth grade, who had just graduated from elementary school, had difficulty with a serious teacher, but then history became one of the most non-standard subjects in the school daily routine. Yurii is a teacher-methodologist, lecturer, author of several manuals for students and teachers, a number of publications on the problems of methods of teaching history. Member of the Commission on Social Sciences (section “History”) at the Scientific and Methodological Council on Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Areas of interest include the use of interactive technologies in teaching history, the use of historical sources in teaching history. Yurii Komarov created a textbook in accordance with the program on the history of Ukraine for the 7th grade of general secondary education institutions. The proposed textbook reproduces in an original way the interconnectedness and interdependence of the processes of economic, social, political and cultural life of Ruthenian-Ukrainian, Byzantine and European societies. He also created a new program of the Magistra vitae cycle, which was dedicated to the completion of the topic of the development of social movements in Ukraine in the first half of the XIX century. They discussed in detail the importance of the Cyril and Methodius Brotherhood and the peculiarities of national life in Western Ukraine. The question “WHY?” should always be in the air of a historic office.
